Ninth Annual International Export Control Conference

The Ninth International Export Control Conference was held in Cavtat, Croatia from October 20-22, 2008. The conference brought together over 200 export control officials and experts from 90 countries and 8 international organizations including the United Nations, the European Union, SIPRI, and Non Governmental Organizations. The conference provided updates to the participants on a variety of topics including the multilateral nonproliferation regimes, status of the UNSCR 1540, and on-going training initiatives. Attendees had the ability to discuss their specific areas of interest in discussion groups allowing for a free flow of dialog between the participants. This resulted in the submission of group reports that addressed the issues confronting those involved with export controls.
